Before installing Mio on Microsoft Teams, please check the following settings:

Microsoft Teams admin center

The following settings are accessible by Microsoft Teams admins only.

Manage apps

  1. Go to the Manage apps section of your admin center.

  2. Click the Org-wide app settings button in the top right corner.

  3. Turn ON both Allow third-party apps and Allow interaction with custom apps. Click Save.

  4. In the search box on the right, search for “Mio”.

  5. Make sure the Status is marked as Allowed.

Permissions policies

  1. Go to the app Permissions policies section of your admin center.

  2. Select the permission policy your organization is currently using.

  3. In the Third-party apps section, choose one of these three options:

  • If your company chooses to Allow specific apps and block all others, add the Mio app to the allow list.

  • NOTE: If you made changes to this policy, it could take 12-48 hours to take effect.


Azure portal

  1. Sign in to the Azure portal as a Global Administrator.

  2. Select Azure Active Directory > Enterprise applications > Consent and permissions > User consent settings.

  3. Under User consent for applications, select either the middle or last option (recommended). Click Save.

  4. If you selected the middle option, click ⚠️ Select Permissions to classify as low impact.

    1. On the next screen, select No, I’ll add selected permissions.

    2. Click + Add permissions in the top left corner and then Microsoft Graph. Search for and checkbox these additional scopes:

      • ChannelMessage.Send

      • Chat.Create

      • Chat.ReadWrite

      • email

      • Files.ReadWrite

      • offline_access

      • openid

      • profile

      • Sites.ReadWrite.All

      • Team.ReadBasic.All

      • User.Read

    3. Navigate back to the User consent settings page. Select the middle option and then click Save.
